Political Correctness Gone Mad?

We consider the disrespectfulness of today's youth as a modern phenomenon, yet the oft-quoted words of 8th century monk Hesiod remind us that this is certainly not a recent problem.

In the same way, perhaps we should remember that overt political correctness is not new. Take this splendid example from the Book of Common Prayer (1662):

The Order of Baptism for those of Riper Years

Political correctness hasn't gone mad; it has always been that way.
